THE HOUSE HISTORY
The Casa Foz do Corgo project is dedicated, in profound homage, to my parents, Virginia and José, to whom I keep an eternal longing ...
The Rustic Casa Foz do Corgo, is the original house, with very old architecture, and was built in 1905, by a carvoeiro, who sold charcoal to locomotives of CP, of the Douro and Corgo line.
The railroad, marked predominantly, in such low-economic terms in the demarcated Douro region.
Mr. Camilo, bought Casa Foz do Corgo, next to the carvoeiro. But in the meantime, either Mr. Camilo chooses to emigrate to Venezuela.
Since the house was free, its owner decided to rent the house, being rented by my parents.
At Casa Foz do Corgo, I lived a happy childhood and adolescence, where I built a stone castle with my friends, where I played football on a small improvised field, with Oliveira as the goal post.
I felt the aroma and flavor of the grapes, we made a small half-day vintage every year, the grapes being sold to Adega Cooperativa da Régua.

At Casa Foz do Corgo we have several fruit trees, in organic production mode: vines, orange trees, lemon trees, mandarin trees, fig trees, persimmon trees, almond trees, pomegranate trees, cereals trees, pear trees, peach trees, plum trees, olive trees, quince trees, walnut trees and a small vegetable garden Bio.
Casa Foz do Corgo has direct access to the Corgo River and the Douro River, where, in my childhood, I fished barbels, bogues, rabecos and eels with my father and brothers, where, on summer nights, we fell asleep to the sound frogs and the corgo river running smoothly.
Outside the house, there was only a branch and in front, at Quinta da Vacaria, there was also a branch; images documented by a very old video made by a BBC journalist, where the Corgo railway bridge and the exterior area of Casa Foz do Corgo and Quinta da Vacaria appear.
Casa Foz do Corgo is located at the mouth of the Corgo River, with a very specific fauna (cormorants, wild ducks, herons, etc.) and flora (endangered plant: four-leaf clover), with framing elements distinctive buildings: Ponte Ferroviária do Corgo (Douro line and Corgo line, now extinct), Casa do Douro, CP maintenance workshops and Corgo Railway Station.
In front of Casa Foz do Corgo, we can see the vineyards of Quinta da Vacaria founded in 1616.
